For this project I was instructed to come up with four illustrations based off of an article that was given to me. Finding a way to represent the article in a creative manner meant that interpretation and abstraction were heavily encouraged.

For these illustrations, I wanted to make sure that the history of the tradition was married to the contemporary and creative art of cookie making  decorating.With this I also leaned into the abstraction of the article, as well as using rich colors and heavy textures to represent the feeling of comfort that this timeless art brings to the artists lives.
